The African Sports Centre for Data, Research and Technology (ASC) has announced a roster of top sport executives in Africa and beyond as Advisory Board for the 2023 edition of the AfroSport Summit slated for Accra, Ghana, from August 2-3.
Former Simba SC and Young Africans SC CEO Senzo Mbatha, Sports Connect Africa founder and CEO Cynthia Mumbo and Olisa Agbakoba Legal (OAL) partner Beverley Agbakoba-Onyejianya are among the six-member panel.
The rest include Fifa high performance specialist Abdul Faisal Chibsah, Kora Stats CEO Mohamed Adel Elbrady and GOAL Africa head of content Ed Dove.
The board will provide advice to shape the organization of AfroSport 2023 following a successful inaugural event in 2022.
A two-day summit set for the Accra International Conference Centre, AfroSport brings together major sports stakeholders in Africa and beyond to a special event for learning and sharing ideas, advancing discussions, and networking in a unique intersection of science and business.
Various stakeholders of the sport value chain in Africa and beyond, including clubs, federations, leagues, athletes, coaches, businesses, media, academia, and distinguished personalities are expected to attend.
The event features a congress, industry talks, expo, and a gala cocktail in a unique platform for networking, advancing discussions, education, charting a path for sport development in Africa, among others.
The Spanish LaLiga, Stats Perform Opta, VALD Performance, the Johan Cruyff Institute, the Ghana Football Association, the Ghana Olympic Committee, and the Ghana Ministry of Sports were among partners and collaborators for the maiden event in 2022.
