Thank you for your interest in the AfroSport Summit set for 17-18 July 2024 in Accra, Ghana.
AfroSport Summit brings together major sport stakeholders in Africa and beyond to a special event for learning and sharing ideas, advancing discussions, and networking in a unique intersection of science and business.
The conference will provide a platform for both seasoned and young scholars to present relevant research. You are invited to submit abstracts covering any of the following conference broad topics:

To ensure a smooth abstract submission and follow-up process, please note the following information and guidelines.
Submission Deadline and Confirmation
The deadline for submission of abstracts is 29th March, 2024 at 11:59pm GMT (UTC +00:00). There will be no exceptions.
All abstracts must be submitted via the online form. Abstracts not sent via the online form will not be considered.
Upon successful submission of your abstract, you will receive a confirmation e-mail notice. Be sure to save the confirmation of submission notice for reference in case of a problem or question. If you do not receive the notice, please check your spam/junk folder (look out for the subject line “AfroSport 2024 Abstract Submission Confirmation”).
The notification of acceptance/rejection of the abstracts submitted will be sent via email by 30th April, 2024.
General Guidelines
The submitting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission.
The language of the conference is English, and your abstract should be submitted in English.
Please indicate, in the submission form, the broad topic the abstract is in line with.
Please note the submitting author will receive all correspondence about the abstract.
You can submit only one (1) abstract. Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference brochure.
The person who will present at the conference must be indicated in the online form and does not have to be the lead author/researcher. Changing/substituting presenters is permitted. Any change should be communicated no later than 1 month to the event.
This call is not restricted to African researchers.
Abstracts must demonstrate relevance to the African sport industry.
Abstracts may not be edited/updated after final submission.
The abstract should be uploaded into the submission form as a Word document.
The details of the submitting author and presenting author should be provided in the abstract submission form. The details of all other authors should be provided in the abstract document. The following details must be provided:
- Title;
- Full name (in the format: surname/last name, first name, other names);
- Affiliation details (if applicable) and designation (e.g., Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Department of Physiotherapy and Sport Science, Senior Lecturer);
- Short bio of the authors (maximum 30 words)
- Email address; and
- Contact number (with country code).

Abstract Guidelines
The title of the abstract should not exceed 10 words.
Abstracts should align with any of the conference broad topics listed.
Abbreviations should be defined the first time they appear in your text. Example: Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), before being used as an abbreviation only. Please, do not define or use abbreviations in the title.
Abstracts should not exceed 300 words.
Please provide a summary statement of the abstract (maximum 30 words). This text will be included online and in the mobile app to summarize your presentation for attendees.
Presentation Guidelines
All presentations will be in-person, i.e. oral presentations. There will be no pre-recorded presentations.
Final presentation slides should be submitted to speak@afrosportsummit.com by 1st July 2024. The email subject should be “Abstract Presentation Slides”. You are encouraged to bring along a back up on pen drive.
Each abstract will be allocated 15 minutes (10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for audience discussion). A moderator will facilitate the sessions.
Funding and Visas
Please submit your abstract only if you have a budget to attend the conference or are very likely to have funding available by the registration deadline. You are encouraged to begin planning visa arrangements now, as the process can take several months.
You are responsible for arranging your own funding; AfroSport Summit does not fund registration or travel expenses including accommodation.
